BPT Group Brand Architecture

The day and moment we decided to change BPT business module from Branded house to House of brands, we knew we invited a real challenge.

A “house of brands” strategy involves a company owning multiple brands that operate independently, each with its own identity, values, and target audience.

This approach allows companies to cater to diverse customer needs and preferences, creating a broad market presence.

Here are some key points about this strategy we thought and started   working .

What is a House of Brands Strategy?

A house of brands strategy is where a parent company manages a portfolio of distinct brands, each targeting different market segments. Unlike a branded house where a single brand name is used across all products, a house of brands maintains separate identities for each brand .

Advantages

  1. Market Segmentation: Each brand can target a specific demographic or consumer need, allowing for tailored marketing and product development.
  1. Risk Management: Issues with one brand do not directly affect the others, providing a buffer against market fluctuations.
  1. Flexibility ;  Companies  can experiment with new products or market with out diluting their identity of their existing brands

Challenges

  1. Complexity: Managing multiple brands can be complex and costly, requiring distinct marketing strategies, product development, and operational efforts.

Examples

  • Unilever: Manages brands like Dove, Axe, and Lipton, each with its own unique identity and target market. Procter & Gamble ; owns brands such as tide. Gillette & pampers , catering to different consumer needs and preferences.

Implementation Tips

  1. Clear Differentiation: Ensure each brand has a clear and distinct identity to avoid market confusion.
  1. Consistent Quality: Maintain high standards across all brands to build trust and loyalty. Unified vision ; While brands operate independently , they should align with the over all vision

Branded House

4] Coustomer perception; Strengthining the over all brand equity of the parent brand
